Flatpick Guitar Workshop w/Mick Bisiker @ Albany Theatre - Clive Benfield Studio
Mar 1 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

CV Folk Freshers Workshop

Here’s your chance to gain and develop your music-making and performance skills under the guidance of leading musicians and performers from the folk circuit.

CVFolk is hosting a series of specialist workshops at the Albany Theatre, Coventry usually, but not always, on the first Saturday morning of each month. For two hours, you can build your expertise in a range of instruments and performance styles, inspired by experts.

On this date we actually present TWO workshops – morning and afternoon. See below for a link to the afternoon event.

The morning workshop is hosted by well-known23 and talented multi-instrumentalist, Mick Bisiker who’ll be giving advice and guidance on the art of flatpick guitar.

Founder of the popular concert and ceilidh band, Rack and Ruin, Mick’s wide repertoire ranges from traditional to self-penned songs and tunes, and he is especially noted for his skills in performing fast arrangements of traditional session tunes played on acoustic guitar, mandola and bouzouki.

An experienced music teacher, Mick makes his debut appearance as a CVFolk Freshers Workshop leader and will share expertise built up over many years on this exciting and foot-tapping style of guitar-playing. All age groups welcome, especially younger, future star performers of folk and acoustic music! Some basic guitar experience is needed and you’ll be amazed how much you can learn in a fun and friendly environment.

Admission £8 or £5 concessions, incl students and pensioners. Book in advance or pay on arrival, and don’t forget to bring your guitars and flatpicks!
